What is the best canned cat food for a cat who no longer has any teeth?

My cat just had 6 teeth removed, and he can no longer eat hard food. plz help

What is the best canned cat food for a cat who no longer has any teeth?
There are many good brands of canned food out there. You can look through the What to feed list - all are good brands and if a website is listed for the food, chances are that they'll have a store locator so you can find where they're sold in your area.





One other brand not mentioned in there is By Nature Organics. I think this is one of the very best because it's grainless, has very few ingredients and is low cal too.





If your cat doesn't like any of those brands, you can also look through the information on how to choose a good food.





EDIT: Also, you can make any canned food mushier/softer by adding a little bit of water to it and mixing it in. The extra water is good for the digestion as well.
Reply:Anything that is not chunky or gravy style. Minced is best. Ask at the pet store which quality brands are minced as opposed to chunky.

Reply:My cat has bad teeth and the vet recommended baby food meat. You know, the kind that comes in a jar and is pureed. Beef, chicken, and turkey--my cat loves them all! Good luck.
Reply:I would stick with any of the SENIOR varieties of can food.. they are made to be easier to digest so if he doesn't gum his food properly he won't have any problems digesting it..





baby food should work too.. stick with the lamb or chicken.. :)
Reply:Anna if you were just at the vet to have the cat's teeth removed what did the vet tell you to do for the cat and what did the vet tell you to feed the cat. Isn't your cat on antibotics from pulling the teeth? If you didn't receive this information while at the vets office then you should call the office and ask this question to them.
Reply:my cat is a senior hes 18 years old he has some teeth missing too.. he does eat baby food make sure its meat brands chicken -beef- lamb but he also eats friskys for seniors in the can .. so try him on those . he may be able too hand them good luck !!
