Reply:Ha! I made a horrible mistake putting a little toothpaste into my beloved cats mouth...and she freaked out gagging and foaming and trying desperately to spit it up... I felt terrible
Reply:yeah but is it okay to use the same toothbrush that i use too ?
Reply:No, please don't brush your cat's teeth. Animals have very sensitive gums and brushing them can cause great irritation. There should be a type of toothpaste for animals though. Ask your vet.
Reply:YES I DO EVER DAY AND MY DOG
Reply:No but I think I should start.
Reply:Poor diet is the cause of the need for cats (and dogs) to have their teeth cleaned.
Make sure you feed them good quality dry food, many have special shaped bits to help keep teeth clean. There are also special food preparations specifically to clean the teeth if there is a problem.
Feeding your cats chicken wing tips also helps keep the teeth clean.
Pet toothbrushes and toothpastes are commercial ploys to get pet owners to waste money on items that with correct feeding would not be needed.
Just as a matter of interest, check what is in those tootpastes - lots of chemicals and additives.
