Is there such a thing as cat dentures or cat teeth replacements?

I have a 12 yr old cat and he came to me with only 4 teeth - he gets so depressed sometimes, trying to eat. So I thought I would ask on the off chance that something this strange would have been made somewhere!!

Is there such a thing as cat dentures or cat teeth replacements?
There are veterinarians who specialize in dentistry for dogs and cats. We do have one locally and I have never had to consult her.

Cats don't use their teeth much for eating. The canines are used for the kill and their very raspy tongues are what pull the meat from the bones.

Certainly canned food would make it easier to eat because their tongues can handle that. If you examine the regurgitation from dry food you know the dry food is not "chewed" at all. The stomach acids have to break it down and dissolve it.
Reply:Lol. Why would you want to buy your cat dentures? I would just mush up his/her food so it is easier for him to eat.
Reply:No, sadly, your poor kitty is screwed when it comes to replacing the teeth he has lost. Just wet cat food and lots of love are in order for the little guy. Poor kitty.
Reply:Just feed him a good high protein and under 10% carb diet of WET canned food and he will be fine. Cats get along great on just canned and won't miss the teeth at all.'

You can free feed your old boy and he can eat as he wants. Bowls of wet food can be left out all day and night. Wet food is fine for 12 hours even if you feed raw. A wet food should have some water added and mashed in so your kitten gets extra water. Cats have a very low thirst drive and do not get enough water.

Wet food that is High Protein and low Carb under 10 % will keep a cat full longer too.

Avoid dry food like a plague. It is the leading cause for feline diabetes, kidney failure, UTI's, Crystals in the urine causing blockages. Also obesity and many other problems.

Cats swallow most of the dry food if you look at their barf it is whole and a few of the pieces shatter. The vets feel it is good for cats teeth because the pet food reps tell them it is!!

My vet agreed that cats are obligate carnivores. Meaning they need to have high protein diets with under 10% carbs and dry is not good for them and then tries to sell some to me!!!!!! I have a new vet, got tired of arguing.

If you think of when you get hungry what fills you up the best? A bag of chips or cookies (Carbs) or a good piece of meat?

Cats need meat not carbs or veggies or fruit ever!!

Please read the first link to see everything I could write to you and decided to let an expert tell you. then chose a food that is canned from the 2nd list that meets the high protein low carb.
