How often do you brush/clean your cat's teeth?

Do you use cat toothbrush, bare hand or wet cloth?

With cat toothpaste?

Thank you.

Hi there...we brush our cats teeth daily with a small pet toothbrush and cat toothpaste product by Petrodex http://www.jemarpet.com/images/CatDental... .

Here's an instructional video on how to teach a cat to become comfortable having it's teeth brushed by Cornell University College of Feline Medicine: http://www.felinevideos.vet.cornell.edu/...
Reply:I don't brush my cat's teeth. Should I?
Reply:If you are feeding the proper food your cat should never need his/her teeth brushed however, a regular check-up should be considered so the vet can make sure there are no cavities or broken teeth.
Reply:Cats need dry catfood to keep their teeth clean.
Reply:you don't
Reply:Never? I have never done that before and my cat is just fine though she's already 12 years old.
Reply:Ah, never. I really really MEANT to but I just couldn't pull it off with either cat. I couldn't even manage the dental wipes.

I'm not sure if you're just surveying or actually looking for advice? If the latter, I think daily brushing would be best, although weekly would be acceptable. I believe the toothpaste is mainly to make it palatable so if you can brush without it I'm sure that would be fine.

You can read the article below for more info. I personally use chicken necks to keep their teeth clean.

EDIT: I'll post the article when 360 struggles back up....
