Cleaning cat's teeth...?

I have 2 cats, both 3 years old. I've never cleaned their teeth ...





I never really thought much about dental hygiene for them until now...what could I do to clean their teeth without having to pay the vet to do it?





Also, I doubt I can brush their teeth with a toothbrush, they're very fidgety and would never let me try that.

Their teeth may still be in good shape and you won't have to face a cleaning for a few years yet. But your vet should be able to give you a better picture of how they're doing.





You can start brushing their teeth - daily, weekly or twice per week. Or you can look into supplements to add to their water or food. Or there's a product your vet can probably sell you that you rub on their gums once per week. Or you can start giving them raw chicken necks.

Reply:We use these cloths (they look like baby wipes that spell like toothpaste) that are for cats teeth. We couldnt get a brush in our cats mouth either lol. They work GREAT%26gt; he really doesnt mind them. HE just licks his mouth a whle.
Reply:The best and natural way to clean your cats teeth is on the raw food diet. The ground up bone naturally scrapes of plaque to keep their teeth clean. One of my cats had really bad breath and what appeared to be rotting teeth. After switching to the raw food diet. They all have really clean teeth and the one with the almost rotten teeth has now healthy white teeth. I would do some research on the web and go to your holistic pet store and see what is offered. You want to make sure that you look for one that has at least 80% protein.


Your cats will love it (it might take some coaxing, some are really finciky) but their health and dental heigien will be proof that it is the best choice. I was skeptical at first, but I have seen amazing improvements in all of my cats!
