Is it normal for my cat to have four canine teeth on the top?

My kitten Zeus, I just recently noticed has two sets of canines coming down on top. Where normally the top canine teeth come down there is an extra canine coming down. The bottom canines are completely normal though. He eats fine and it doesn't seem to be bothering him. Is this a normal thing to be happening?

Just in case I didn't get all this described normally, Zeus has a total of four top canines (two on each side) and the normal ones are fine.

I had this problem with my cat when he was kitten. He ended up with 8 canines at one point, he had his baby ones still and his adult ones where coming in. I would assume his baby teeth just have not fallen out yet, if they do not fall out over the next few months I would have the vet check him. But as long as he is not in pain or having trouble with food and water it probably fine.

My cat chewed on the dog one day and one his baby canines was in the dogs skin when I got home. Poor dog!
Reply:Yeah the dog was alright though I felt bad. Poor thing, having a cat chew on her! Report It

Reply:It isn't normal, but I am thinking that his adult teeth just need to finish growing in. Once they do, he should lose the others. If not, talk to a vet and see if they need pulled.
Reply:It sounds like Zeus has some retained baby teeth, which is nothing to worry about. Watch them, and if they don't come out you can have them removed when he is neutered.
Reply:Are they baby teeth?
Reply:How old is the kitten?

His top milk teeth may not have fallen out when his adult teeth came in. They may still fall out on their own, or they my need a little help from the vet.
Reply:No you should take the cats to the vet
Reply:His adult teeth are coming in and his baby teeth haven't fallen out yet. Totally normal and nothing to worry about.
Reply:If he's a kitten, those are the adult teeth coming in. Look again in two weeks and there will only be two top fangs there. Most kittens swallow the baby teeth they loose, so you won't find thm on the floor.
Reply:That would be "feline" Canine refers to dogs
