Why does my cat gag when I make a noise by running my thumb across the teeth of a comb.?

My cat gags when doing the above. It doesn't matter if the comb is new or old, clean or dirty, large or small.

Why does my cat gag when I make a noise by running my thumb across the teeth of a comb.?
Cats have a central nervouse system that is not as complex as other mamals such as humans and dogs. When they hear a noise that they believe could possibly be a threat to them, their body sometimes reacts in strange ways such as gagging.
Reply:She is probably irratated by the noise. IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII... "MEOW!"
Reply:people hate the sound of finger nails on a chalk board?
Reply:Just like people alot of pets have their own little corks. Just like some people cant stand nails running down a chalk board. Some fabrics make my teeth hurt when i touch them, I dont know why they just do. But a pet is only as weird as its owner, right?lol.
Reply:LOL I had to try it with my cat!! I dunno but I guess it would be equivalent to our teeth hurting when nails scratch a black board
