Do you clean your cats teeth?

Our vet actually gagged when she smelled our cats breath %26amp; asked if we brushed her teeth. We dont. (are you kidding? I can barely clean their ears!)

Do you clean your cats teeth?
we never cleaned our cats teeth now he is 17 and has no teeth because decay made them all fall out! you should brush your cats tteeth
Reply:if u want 2
Reply:We never had problems with teeth when using just a dry food. We have a sickly kitty that can't eat dry food at this time. Vet is going to teach me how to clean her teeth once we are past all this medication and she will be cleaning tarter off when we get her spayed. But, I don't plan to be cleaning the other kitties teeth. Too many kitties (they weren't adoptable due to mange, so we kept 'em all).
Reply:I had to take my Jazz to the vet to have his teeth clean because there is no way he let me do it, and cleaning his ears is a task too.
Reply:They have special "treats" for cats now that are tartar control...if your cat has a lot of buildup in her mouth you should probably take her to a professional to get them done....and what kind of food does she eat? she is more prone to tooth decay and general problems in the mouth with a wet food...feed her dry food.
Reply:you don't have to. but i would... its not an easy job.
Reply:call other vets and see if they will brush your cats teeth or try calling the local groomers
Reply:We wipe our cats teeth with soft gauze 1-2 times a week. The vet can show you how to do it.
Reply:i have a cat who is 8 nearly 9 years old... and we brush his teeth every month..

you need just an ordinary toothbrush, but whatever you do, dont use toothpaste!!!!

if you dont use toothpaste then the teeth will become much more stronger, and they wont fall out
