ps--------------she is an old gal!!

My cat has hardly any teeth and drools, what should I do?
Actually, most animals with dental problems adapt just fine.

There is nothing that you really have to do unless it seems like she is in pain. I know a poodle that has no teeth, and still eats hard kibble.

She is going to drool because there is nothing to hold the saliva in her mouth.

Love her up and tell her how much she means to you.
Reply:Maybe she has down syndrome
Reply:might sound mean maybe its time to put her to sleep
Reply:get her some kitty dentures and a bib!
Reply:and probably you'd do the same thing if you were as old as your cat and had no teeth.
Reply:get her a denture?
Reply:Put her on a soft diet and wipe off her chin when she drools. I don't know....try a bib !! If she doesn't have any other health problems, that's pretty good for an old gal.
Reply:i love cats but when its time to put them too sleep i dont wast time.
Reply:Get that sucker some dentures and a bib ................
Reply:Have you taken her to the vet? If she has dental problems, she could be in a great deal of pain. The vet can pull any more of her teeth that are bad, clean the ones that are good, and make sure she has no other health problems.

Drooling is a sign of bad teeth, but most old cats drool to one degree or another. As long as she's otherwise healthy, and eating well, there isn't any need to do anything. Canned food might be easier for her to eat than hard, if she seems to be having trouble with the dry stuff.

Basically, you just have to live with the drool, she can't help it. Enjoy her and love her for however much quality time she has left. Good luck!
