My 12-year-old cat just had 4 teeth (3 fangs) pulled today. How long will it be before he feels good again?

Thank you for your help! I love him so much.

My 11 year old dog just had some teeth removed at the end of January. It's probably a little different in dogs and cats, but maybe the info will help you out a little :)

She was on mediation for 3 weeks. The vet told me to look for over-obsessive licking and panting as signs of pain in the gums. After about 2 weeks, it seemed as though she was feeling 100% better. Even though the poor gal only has a few teeth left, she's back to stealing the other dog's hard food.
Reply:You love him so much? im finding it very hard to figure out why anyone would love a cat....it just doesnt seem normal
Reply:He'll probably be acting fine by tomorrow or the next day. Did they give him anything for pain?
Reply:That all depends on your cat. He could be a wuss about it, or just get over it.
Reply:well, probably till his teeth grow back
Reply:Just a few days. Both of my 6 year old white cats had teeth removed (5 for one, 9 for the other), and they were back to normal - if not better, in no time!
Reply:Cats are tough!!

I can't say how long your cat will take to get back to normal, we never had to have any teeth pulled from any cats over the years, But we had a cat that had a fang fall out - it just fell out and she didn't miss a beat!

I don't think cats chew with there fangs, just follow your vets instructions and your kitty should be fine.
Reply:Make sure they also send you home with antibiotics!!!! Give him soft foods and water when he is fully recovered from the anesthesia, per the vets instructions. They may want you to wait until tomorrow to feed him.
