Why Does My Cat Chatter Her teeth Before Chasing A Fly?

Maybe he/she is getting ready to eat it or maybe she grinds, or maybe she/he is nervous about catching it. or she/he is getting excited.

I wouldn't worry about it. You can take your question on google you know. :)

Why Does My Cat Chatter Her teeth Before Chasing A Fly?
She is getting all excited... lol
Reply:she's getting ready to use those chompers to kill the bloody fly thats why! and she's all excited about it too!lol
Reply:I have one cat that is a chatterer - some cat's just do that when they get so excited about chasing something. I always figured it was a good thing mine didn't have to hunt for food, as he'd starve to death because he gives himself away.
Reply:When cats catch prey, the grab the neck and "chatter" their teeth to slide their canines in between the vertebrae and sever the spinal cord, and then shake their head to break the neck for good measure.

In cats the hunting instinct is very strong, even though we give them all the food the require. So when they start to chase a bug, sometimes they get so excited they chatter before they catch it - even though bugs don't have necks!
Reply:You 2! :) my cat dos the same thing looking out the window at birds.I think its a nerves twitch. But nothing to worry about my cat is still kicking at 8 1/2 years old.
Reply:she is exited!!!!

my cat does that also. :)
Reply:Youve got a mouser they love hide and seek games, I buy my cat lots of little mice LOTS because she love to play with them but loses them under furniture the bed you name it she'll hide it. Another great thing for mousers is to teach them how to play fetch. Crumple a paper into a ball and throw it and teach her/him to bring it back to you. You'll have to pick it up a few times and take it back to where you initially threw it but my cat loves it. She also chatters when she sees birds, but I always tell no boo boo bird. And she gets it. They're great cats you will never have to worry about spiders, flies, mosqitos, mice, etc. Cool, lucky you got yourself a mouser.
Reply:cats do this in excitement and getting ready to catch it
Reply:It's to show that she's after it.
