I have 2 cats in-house and over 10 cats outside in my garden. They have all received shots against rabies and have all been spayed. They have all been with me over 6 years some more than that but will not let me near them (except for the in-house ones) even though I have fed them and given them water regularly everyday for that time.
One cat seems to have problems with her teeth but will not let me near her. I know it is a tooth problem because she has difficulties chewing hard food. Does anyone know what kind of antibiotic I can give her or any homeopathic way she can be treated?
Thank you
Helen
I have a feral cat outside who seems to suffer from infected teeth.?
If the cat is actually feral it is not adoptable. Unless you or someone you know is willing to pay for the vet bill, I dont belive there are any large organizations that pay for teeth. If the cats are not spayed and neutered, you can get a live trap online for about $20, trap it and get it spayed or neutered, and then release it once its healed a few days later. The process is called TNR, Trap Neuter Release in an effort to reduce the number of feral cats without euthanization. I suggest you check out www.alleycat.org they are one of the best resources for information on feral cats. If you do decide to trap it and take it to the vet, call around, usually there are vets that will charge you only half for feral or homeless cats.
Reply:call your local SPCA and try to get them to set up an humane trap to catch her. they will treat her teeth and then if she doesn't have any life threatening diseases than she will most likely be placed up for adoption (if anybody will be able to touch her). since you said that she's a feral cat. PLEASE, don't let her suffer though. it's completly clear that she's probably in a lot of agony. DO NOT give her any home remedie antibiotics!!
Reply:I also have a cat and have had feral cats outside at one time i had a whole litter, I used a humane cat trap and took them to the vet for their shots and one had a broken tooth and infection so they put her to sleep and fixed it then i took them to a camp ground and turned them loose it is just to many cats for one person to handle. And the camp ground owner wanted them to help keep his camp ground clean by being around all the people they became tame over time and are just a pleasure to see wonder around so healthy and friendly.
