She has fang like teeth coming out the bottom of her mouth. They are much longer then her other teeth and when her mouth is closed they stick out an up over her lip. She still it able to eat, but her mouth is sore to touch. She is a house cat and has never been outside. She is the only animal we have inside our home. Does anyone have a clue to why this is happening to her?
Hi: My cat is 11yrs old and we noticed that her bottom teeth look like fangs growing out of her mouth. Help!?
Vets, as a rule, do not file down teeth unless it is medically necessary. What you are experiencing is a receding gum line which will make the canines seem very long. Have your vet check them for soundness and have any loose or diseased teeth removed and get a thorough cleaning done while you are at it.
Reply:Sounds like she is not "wearing" them down. I would take her to the vet...they probably will pull them or file them down. Good luck:)
Reply:Take her to the vet a.s.a.p.
Reply:take her to the vet. it can get worse than it is now. id take her as soon as possible.
